Charitable giving

Giving to charity is something that’s rooted in our desire to help others and make a positive impact on the world around us. It can strengthen communities, transform lives and help create a better world for all.

Since 2022 we have committed to giving 1% of our pre-tax Group profit to charity each year.

Supporting better financial education

We believe financial advice and education should be more accessible, so it’s our goal to open up financial advice so more people can benefit. One way we're doing that is by supporting a charity that provides practical advice and support for people experiencing issues with mental health and money.

Helping people have a home

Everyone should have a place where they feel safe and belong. That’s why we’re passionate about supporting charities that help people have a place to call home  - whether they’re at risk of becoming homeless, struggling with poverty or live in deprived areas.

Championing warm and efficient homes

Sustainability is as vital now as it ever has been. We want to do our part in improving awareness and helping advance the move towards better insulated homes with lower carbon footprints across the UK. We've partnered with a charity who provides education and support on improving energy efficiency in our homes, particularly for those living in fuel poverty.

Our charity partnerships

We believe in doing more for our members and communities.

As part of our commitment, we run a charity partnership programme where we work together with important causes, going beyond helping people with their finances. Through the programme, we support our chosen charity partners and help build a better society.

Here is a little bit of information on the three different charity partners we support.

Age UK

Age UK was chosen by our members to receive funding over the next three years. This funding will help provide vital information, advice, support and friendship for older people – including those living in poverty or in deprived communities.

As part of this, Age UK will use the funding to provide one-to-one, tailored advice sessions. These sessions will support vulnerable older people to live in safe, secure and warm homes.

Funding will also be used to carry out research into the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on older households.

National Energy Action

Chosen by our Skipton colleagues, National Energy Action is the national charity working to end fuel poverty in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

They offer advice and support to fuel-poor households, as well as advocating for policy and regulation to protect the most vulnerable.

In partnership with National Energy Action, we’ll support their work across the UK to help more people have a warm and safe home, providing community-based support for households in areas with high rates of fuel poverty.
